To fix this problem, you need to remove the old belt and replace it with a new one. How is this done?
Putting On The Belt On Kirby
Firstly, turn the lifter of the belt to the left and you should see 2 green arrows match up. Unhook both latches on opposite sides of the Rug Plate.
Push the edge and the back of the rug plate to release it. Remove the old belt and insert the new one. Ensure that the numbers on the end caps and roll match.
Put the belt on top of the brush roll then put the rug plate on the bumper first and pull it down over the back.
Secure it in place using the two latches. Then turn the belt lifter to the left until the arrows and red lines match up.
The belt will catch on the hook inside of the nozzle. Attach the power nozzle to the unit. Turn on the unit and ensure that the brush roll light is on.
This shows the brush roll is spinning and you are ready to clean your floor.
Tip
You may need to try several times to get each step correct. Make sure the roller is working when you turn the vacuum cleaner on.
If the roller isn’t moving, remove the power head and repeat the steps. Make sure the belt is stretched on its lifter before putting it back on the vacuum cleaner.
If it’s not stretching, it won’t connect correctly with the motor shaft. How do you change the other features of the vacuum?
The Bag
The first step is to remove the old filter bag and replace it with a new one.
Make sure you pull the top adaptor out of its holder first, then unfold the inner bag and place it inside the outer bag.
Next, put the adaptor back into the holder and attach the support strap to the hole on the adaptor. Finally, fold the faceplate down and push it onto the adaptor.
Handheld

Bend your outer bag in half and attach the bag latch tab into its slot. Zip the bag closed and slide the handle back into place.
Safety
Make sure your machine is unplugged and the power button turned off before servicing your vacuum.
Make sure your hands are dry before servicing your machine. Gloves should always be worn while servicing your machine to avoid cuts and scrapes.
